Improved Machining Stainless Steels

AAMAX® Stainless Type 303, 304, 304L, 316, 316L are improved machining grades produced by Aamor Inox. These grades are identical in every way to standard ASTM or DIN grades, except with respect to Machinability.
The key to Improved Machinability lies in the special melting process adopted by Aamor Inox with optimized non-metallic inclusions, optimal chemical composition and an optimized process and production parameters
This special melting process results in a material providing you following benefits –
1. Increased productivity – Compared with standard ASTM / DIN grades, AAMAX® Stainless can greatly improve your competitive edge. It machines smoother with significantly less waste. In case you need to increase the machining rate, it can handle the speed. The result? The processing costs will drop and help you stay competitive.
2. Better tool life – AAMAX® Stainless is simple on your tools. With it, you will need to change tools less frequently as the tools will experience less wear tear and stay sharp longer. Thereby, decreasing your slowdowns with a much greater productivity.
3. Excellent chip control – AAMAX® Stainless accelerates an excellent chip control during the machining of bars. It smoothens the job and allows you more flexibility than ever to meet your production goals while improving your bottom line.
With AAMAX® Stainless – above results are observed across a wide range of cutting conditions on all types of machined parts. Since aggressive machining produces the most favorable results, increased productivity results automatically.
AAMAX® Stainless – Machinability Procedure
Machinability also depends on many variables in the machining process. Because of this, the different criteria of Machinability must be viewed with caution. Some of the variables that affect the evaluation of Machinability are:
- Type of cutting fluid used during the process
- Type of machining operation being carried out
- Rigidity of tooling or fixtures
- Tool material and tool geometry
AAMAX® Stainless can provide a significant competitive advantage for shops that demand efficient, high volume and reliable production.
