Stainless steel 430F is a ferritic grade engineered specifically for easy machining. It is a part of the 400 series, with 15.5–17.5% chromium, and unlike austenitic grades like 304/316, it cannot be strengthened through heat treatment its properties come mainly from composition and cold working.
What makes 430F different from standard 430 is added sulfur. This small change makes a huge difference on the machine floor - faster cutting speeds, cleaner chip breaking, and less wear on tools. The trade-off is that SS 430F has lower corrosion resistance as compared to plain 430, and welding is usually avoided because the sulfur content can cause cracking. If welding is unavoidable, it should be carried out carefully using low heat and the suitable filler material.
In India, Aamor Inox produces stainless steel 430F/1.4104 bars in Round Bar, Square, Flat, and Boat Shaft Bar forms, and supplies them to customers in more than 60 countries. As India's first stainless steel bar producer to hold NADCAP accreditation, every bar we make goes through accredited heat treatment and non-destructive testing. Across our facilities, production capacity stands at more than 50,000 tons a year, with every bar held to tight tolerances and straightness well beyond standard ASTM A108 requirements.
This grade works the best for parts that need high-volume machining without making any compromise on dimensional accuracy or surface finish think fasteners, fittings, and precision turned components. If tool life and cycle time matter more to your application than corrosion resistance, 430F is exactly the grade built for that job.
430F is a sulphur-modified ferritic stainless steel developed specifically for machining-intensive applications.
With advanced cold drawing and finishing facilities, Aamor Inox manufactures premium-quality 430F stainless steel hexagons with: stable AF dimensions, sharp corner definition, dependable straightness, and reliable machining performance.
Custom tolerances available. Crack testing through Eddy Current Testing via Circograph systems from Dr. Foerster, Germany and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI). 100% Ultrasonic Testing through Water Immersion based fully-automatic Ultrasonic Testing systems.
Aamor Inox is India's first stainless steel bar producer with NADCAP-accredited Heat Treatment as well as Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) capabilities. For machining-grade stainless steel hexagons, process consistency becomes critically important for dimensional repeatability, machining stability, surface finish quality, bar feeding consistency, and dependable production performance.
For precision hexagon bars, dimensional control involves much more than nominal size. In machining environments, across-flat consistency directly influences collet gripping stability, bar feeding consistency, machining concentricity, thread precision, and repeatability during turning operations.
This becomes especially important in automatic screw machining, high-speed CNC production, precision threaded components, and high-volume European machining environments.
At Aamor Inox, hexagon geometry and AF dimensional precision are engineered specifically for demanding machining applications.
For precision turned parts and threaded engineering components, even small geometry inconsistencies can directly affect machining stability, assembly precision, thread quality, tooling behavior, and production efficiency. Our cold drawing and finishing systems are developed specifically to support stable machining performance under demanding European production conditions.
Aamor Inox manufactures stainless steel hexagon bars aligned with demanding European machining and dimensional expectations. Our 430F hexagons are manufactured and supplied in accordance with:
In automatic machining environments, stable material behavior directly affects production consistency. Common issues associated with poor-quality ferritic hexagons include unstable bar feeding, inconsistent thread geometry, poor surface finish, vibration during turning, dimensional inconsistency, and machining instability.
For precision threaded components and turned parts, machining stability becomes just as important as machinability itself.
430F / 1.4104 stainless steel is recognized under various international standards and grade designations.
European customers trust Aamor Inox because our manufacturing philosophy focuses on AF dimensional accuracy, geometry consistency, machining stability, thread quality, surface integrity, and dependable production performance.
