304L (EN 1.4307, UNS S30403) is the low-carbon Stainless Steel variant of the standard austenitic grade 304, with carbon content restricted to 0.030% max. This reduction limits chromium carbide precipitation at grain boundaries during welding and thermal exposure in the 425-850°C sensitization range, giving the grade significantly better resistance to intergranular corrosion in the heat-affected zone. Chromium content of 18.0–20.0% and nickel content of 8.0–12.0% provide the corrosion resistance,
Ductility, and non-magnetic austenitic structure the material is known for, while typical mechanical properties in the annealed condition include a minimum yield strength of 190 MPa, tensile strength of 500–700 MPa, and elongation of 45% minimum.
Explore Our 304L Stainless Steel RangeManufactured to ASTM A276, ASTM A479, and EN 10088 specifications, this material is available in round, hexagon, square, and flat bar sections, produced through hot rolling, solution annealing, pickling, and cold finishing to achieve the dimensional tolerances, straightness, and surface finish required for machining 304L stainless steel to precision engineering standards. For teams cross-referencing legacy drawings, the 304L stainless steel equivalent designations are AISI 304L, DIN-EN 1.4307, and German grade X2CrNi18-9 all describing the same chemistry under different national/international standards.
Aamor Inox is among the 304L stainless steel suppliers manufacturing bright round bar, cold drawn, hot rolled peeled, and precision ground shafting product lines, with size ranges from 4 mm to 150 mm, lengths up to 11 meters, straightness to 0.25 mm/meter TIR, and surface finishes to Ra 0.2 µm. Production is supported by NADCAP-accredited heat treatment and non-destructive testing, including 100% water immersion ultrasonic testing and eddy current inspection, ensuring consistent metallurgical and dimensional performance across process engineering, fluid handling, food processing, pharmaceutical, and general engineering applications in over 60 countries.
NADCAP-accredited Heat Treatment as well as Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) – a first for an Indian stainless steel bar producer.
